Georgia’s Bar Association Holding First Session
At the first session of Georgia’s Bar Association on February 27, the Association adopted its regulations and held a voting for the Chairman. The polls showed Kakha Aslanishvili is a frontrunner with 40% of votes, Zviad Kortdzadze came in close second with 35% of votes, Roin Migriuli trailed third with 17% of votes, Nodar Peikrishvili and Zurab Tabidze won 4% of votes each. In a run-up to elections, the members of the Association will have to vote in support for either Kakha Aslanishvili or Zviad Kordzadze. The candidate who will garner more than half of the votes will ascend as Chairman of Georgia’s Bar Association. After the elections of Chairman is over, the members of the Bar Association will elect 9 members of the Executive Board, 9 members of Ethics Commission, and 3 members of Supervisory Commission. |
